Concrete Scanning
Ground penetrating radar run at higher frequency against a slab, deck, or wall to map rebar, embedded conduit, radiant tubing, and post-tension tendons before anyone cores, cuts, or drills.
The antenna is passed over the surface on a grid and reflections are read live, so targets are marked on the concrete itself. Higher frequency buys the resolution needed to separate closely spaced bars at the cost of penetration depth, which is the right trade for structural elements. Concrete scanning replaced concrete X-ray on most sites because it needs access to only one face, requires no radiation exclusion zone, and gives an answer immediately instead of after film processing.
